About Us

Rabbit Shadow Farm
History
Rabbit Shadow Farm has been around for about
fifteen years when Loveland was still just a small farming town on the way to
Rocky Mountain National Park. Charlie and Mary Gibbs founded the greenhouse and
named it Rabbit Shadow Farm during their first days at the greenhouse. They
chose the name because one day as they worked out back a rabbit stood up out of
the alfalfa field, casting its shadow across the grass. Today the name remains
the same because of the excellent reputation Charlie and Mary established in the
community.
In 1999 Jeff and Kristy Sorenson, a
brother and sister team found RSF for
sale and immediately recognized what a
special place it was. By May the two took over and expanded the
operation into what it is today.
Topiary and Herbs are the greenhouses two
main crops but as the seasons change one can find a wide assortment
of annuals, perennials, hanging baskets and gift items. Jeff Sorenson currently
owns the greenhouse and remains the head grower. Along with a fantastic staff
they offer about two hundred herbs, thirty varieties of Topiary and the highest
quality seasonal plants in the area.
Hours vary throughout the year so please
contact the greenhouse by calling 1-800-850-5531 or sending an e-mail to us. We
hold classes in the greenhouse monthly and we’re always happy to travel to
classrooms or event centers if you have a function you would like to have us
speak at. Our most popular classes include: Topiary 101, Container Gardening
with Herbs and our most popular class, Make Your Own Fairy Garden. Please
contact us for class schedules. We’re also always pleased to take groups on
tours of the greenhouse but please call in advance for reservations.
